Labor inspection

Resumo

The conceptual analysis of labor inspection enables the distinction between state and social labor inspection. The distinction provides a key category to the study of the history of labor inspection, as well as a parameter to monitor changes of the state service of inspection, largue that the involvement of different social forces in the task of controlling the social conditions of work is a condition that can make labor inspection really effective. The history of labor inspection is analysed arguing that stale labor inspection in Brazil has exerted mainly a function of controlling labor movements rather than lhe conditions of labor exercise.
