Resumo
This study investigates whether there is any relationship between career and remuneration plan adopted by companies and voluntary turnover. In this study, career and remuneration plan was divided into three sections: career progression, performance evaluation and salary progression. The field research was conducted in a public company of the brazilian electric sector, Eletrobras, through an electronic survey, a total participation of 260 (46,5%) of 559 new public employees, the universe of this research, entering this institution between 2002 and 2011, by way of tender. As academic contribution, may be mentioned the deepening of understanding of voluntary resignation from the viewpoint of the career and remuneration plan. In this sense, it became clear that the commitment of the employee with the company, the credibility of the plan and the reward offered for their performance are factors that impact significantly on the turnover, having a negative correlation with voluntary resignation of -0,51, -0,40 and -0,42 respectively. These three factors together explained 31,5% of the variability of turnover within the Eletrobras.
