Resumo

Purpose: the main purpose of the study is to understand how the option of teleworking has influenced the entry of women into leadership positions in the public service. Methodology: a qualitative approach was adopted (CRESWELL, 2007), which data collection was carried out through a semi-structured interview using the Google Drive Meet tool. We interviewed 15 women servants and attorneys who had never held a management position, as well as women occupying positions of direction and management at PGFN. From the answers provided by the interviewees, it was intended to understand and extract the possible influence that teleworking can exert on the inclusion of women in leadership positions in the public service. The research was developed within the scope of the Attorney General's Office of the National Treasury - PGFN, limited to the attorneys for the National Treasury and servants. Findings: a perception of positive influence and incentive of teleworking was observed in the entry of women into these command positions. Research Limitations: as the research was delimited within the scope of PGFN, the expansion of the results may be valid only for other bodies that keep similarities. In addition, a quantitative approach to the research problem could complement and bring more robustness to the study. Practical implications: The study indicates the positive influence of telework on women's entry into management positions, which may be a factor in encouraging the occupation of strategic positions that can be managed through telework, especially in remote locations and in units that are difficult to fill. Social implications: the low frequency of women in management positions can be faced by actions or alternatives that guarantee support for their inclusion and permanence in leadership in the public service. Therefore, the public sphere will be able to assume a more purposeful role and, as an incentive, provide opportunities for women to occupy leadership positions through telework, so that they can reconcile the professional aspect with the maintenance of the social role within the family.
