A inclusão das pessoas com deficiência no acervo do CPDOCum guia de boas práticas em acessibilidade

Resumo

The present research project motivated by professional academic and concerns about full accessibility for people with disabilities, investigates the creation of inclusive and safe spaces based on Universal Design, Technical norms and individual sensitivity. Experience on such has revealed a crucial gap upon realizing that physical accessibility is insufficient without physical access to the informational content and communication within educational and cultural institutions, coming out the centrality of the inclusion. The effectiveness of inclusion demands considering the user's needs and their participation. Methodologically the research consisted of bibliographic review, case studies and documentary analysis, proving the scarcity of scientific production in that area. The results call for urgent collaboration among institutions, professionals and managers to boost inclusion and accessibility in historical files, where the training of critical professionals, effective public policies and the commitment of users become pillars for democratic archives. Into this context the creation of the "Guia de Boas Práticas em Acessibilidade” (accessibility best practices guide) collection of CPDOC from FGV” encompassing several dimensions, is configured as fundamental applied result to assure egalitarian access to the historical and cultural heritage".
