Saúde suplementarum estudo do índice inflacionário do setor (VCMH)

Resumo

This study aims at identifying the factors influencing the inflation indexes of the health field appointed by the Variação dos Custos Médico Hospitalares (Medical Hospital Costs Variation) through an analysis of the database of medical bills paid by the health care providers and sent to the National Agency of Supplementary Healthcare (ANS). The objective is to evaluate the costs indexes and frequency of paid procedures, exhibiting the endogenous and exogenous factors that influenced the variation in procedures and supplies, such as the monetary exchange, the introduction of new technologies, and the incorporation of new procedures by the ANS in their reviewing of the range of the mandatory procedures. This study also targets at evaluating the quality of the information brought by the health care providers as means to enlighten the necessity of having a more accurate index for this vital area, not only for the health care field but for the entire country’s economy. Given the lack of publications about this subject, this paper might elucidate a series of posterior analysis as a means to instigate research about more trustworthy indexes and more applicable methodologies to contrast with present ones offered by the VCHM, hence debunking perceptions and quantifying the factors that influence the indexes.
