Resumo
The article presents part of the products developed during the research project “Universal Panacea or constitutional remedy? Habeas corpus in the Superior Courts”", selected in the Public Call Ipea/PNPD 131/2012, under the project "Thinking the Law and the Penal Reform in Brazil”, funded by the Ministry of Justice (MJ) and the Research Institute of Applied Economics (Ipea), linked to the Strategic Affairs Secretariat (SAE). It is an empirical research that examined the habeas corpus and habeas corpus Appeal filled before the Brazilian Supreme Court (STF) and the Brazilian Superior Court of Justice (STJ) from 2008 until 2012.
