Percepção sobre a liderança carismática no setor públicouma análise aplicada no Ministério da Saúde

Resumo

Objective: This study had the intentional objective of understanding: “what are the effects of
 leaders perceived as charismatic and committed to public values by their subordinates on
 motivation for public service and job satisfaction. Methodology: The research takes a descriptive and quantitative methodological approach. The multidimensionality of the construct, its discriminant validity and predictive power of variables were analyzed. The data underwent an Exploratory and Confirmatory Factor Analysis followed by a Multiple Regression Model to verify and confirm the idea that charismatic forms of leadership can be especially effective in the public sector.
 Results: As a result, the impact of charismatic leadership on increasing motivation and job
 satisfaction was observed. Although individually, the constructs hold positive and challenging
 perceptions for leaders today. Limitations: Only a single collection was carried out to verify the instrument and the same survey was used both for the measurement and for the model.
 Practical Contributions: The results confirm the idea that charismatic forms of leadership can
 be especially effective in the public sector. Social Contributions: The research evaluated the perception of employees in relation to Leaders with Public Values and Charismatic leadership, and that this contributed to managers having a better perception of their team, of how to develop a better management tool, better dialogues with workers and make management more participatory.
 Originality: This research is testing the relationship of variables in a new context, where it
 contributed to the validation of a construct that evaluates the adequacy of metrics in relation to
 the orientation of Leaders with Public Values and Charismatic Leadership in the Brazilian
 Federal Public Service.
