Paraná: economia, finanças públicas e investimentos nos anos 90

Resumo

The State of Paraná, during recessive years for Brasil, expanded and modernized its economy in paces relatively fast towards the production of capital goods and durable goods. In the last years, the State has been devoting itself in a industrializing race, competing with other states of the federation aiming to be graced with the biggest fraction of decisions of investments involving regional choices. This paper shows a picture of this economy, of its public accounts as well as of the investments placed in Paraná in the 90s. When necessary the economic and social transformations of the decades of 70’s and 80’s were also analyzed. It is also presents a brief report of an empirical research focused on allocating factors, undertaken with the cooperation of eighteen big sized companies running production in the state.
