Resumo
Based on empirical research conducted over the course of a year, this article addresses the risks of wrongful convictions in so-called megatrials, understood as procedural structures that are characterized by the large number of defendants and accusations, and by the extensive and complex evidential matter. In this sense, the limitations to the individualization of criminal liability, the testimony performed by the informant, the tunnel vision and the difficulties of exercising the right of defense will be analyzed as elements capable of creating the occurrence of wrongful convictions.
