Resumo

The research proposes the meeting and analysis of an unprecedented series of travel chronicles authored by José Lins do Rego (1901-1957), which contributes to understand the international networks of literary sociability established by the writer from Paraiba and based in Rio de Janeiro, during the 1940s and 1950s. The thousands of microtexts published by the Brazilian northeastern novelist in Rio de Janeiro periodicals and in collections reveal the daily life from the intersubjective perspective of the traveler and his personal way of seeing the world. For the purpose of cutting out a very extensive production, it was decided to focus on three case studies: the trips to Argentina in 1943; Portugal in 1951, 1952, 1954 and 1956, and Sweden in 1951. From the reports captured by the chronicles of Lins do Rego, will also be carried out the reconstitution of the international networks of literary sociability established by him through consultation with periodicals, personal and institutional archives and, mainly, the dedications of the books preserved in the Zelinian library. At the end of the research, the research aims to understand the international networks of José Lins do Rego, focusing on the social, literary and political elements that will allow refining the understanding of the role of the Brazilian intellectual inside and outside the country.
