Resumo

The following monograph has as its main purpose to reflect on the limits and potentialities that the adoption of telecommuting represents for greater inclusion of people with disabilities in the Brazilian labor market. Based on the modest advances achieved by the affirmative policy to guarantee open job positions for people with disabilities, were listed the main factors that justify its still deficient compliance, even though three decades have passed since its implementation. The telecommuting work regime when analyzed as a possible agent to overcome the barriers faced until then, would represent an advance over the difficulties of mobility and accessibility to jobs, while it raises concerns about the worsening of the exclusion situation of these workers with disabilities. The adoption of telecommuting as an instrument of social inclusion for people with disabilities requires a deep and interdisciplinary analysis in order to achieve the purpose sought by the legislation that implemented the quotas system, which is the effective inclusion of these workers. Therefore, this study seeks to address the main issues related to the matter, facing the justifications reasons commonly used for non-compliance with the legislation and the peculiarities of the implementation of telework for professionals with disabilities.
