Facing the crisisthe practice of strategic management of UNIBRAS

Resumo

Starting from a procedure centered in group creation - the emancipatory survey - this article discusses with the academic community some of the problems related to the strategic management of the university. Strategic management deals precisely with the sistematization of practices and processes capable of overcoming problematic situations. In such a context, the author's proposal of intervention aims at preparing and promoting the sistematic introduction of strategic management in a university, in order to generate a "pro-active culture" or, more particularly, a "managerial knowledge fund", indispensable to the process of institutional criticism and group creation. This new approach would be the instrument to achieve emancipation, by creatively reordinating the academic activities and relating them to the needs of the social environment.
