Resumo
Methodology – An exploratory survey was carried out with attorneys and administrative servants of the Attorney General's Office of the National Treasury. The sample used was nonprobabilistic, based on the availability of respondents (n = 346). After assessing the quality of
the constructs measurement, the explanatory descriptive analysis of the data, statistical correlation tests and multiple regressions were performed. Findings – The results indicate that there is a relationship between self-leadership and satisfaction. However, when the analysis encompasses all self-leadership strategies and all
dimensions of job satisfaction, the effects of self-leadership occur only through the strategy focused on behaviors and influence the sub-dimensions of satisfaction with leadership and with work. By isolating each of the three self-leadership strategies, the bond changes, the strategies focused on behavior (Behavioral) and the strategies focused on natural rewards (Task
Motivation) demonstrate a positive and significant relationship with satisfaction at work in the
three dimensions: with colleagues (ST1), with the boss (ST2) and with the nature of the work (ST3). Finally, constructive thinking patterns (Constructive Cognition) are positively related only to satisfaction with leadership.
Limitations – The self-leadership construct has been little explored in Brazil, which made it difficult to search for articles in the literature. Virtual availability of the survey, due to physical distance, budget and time constraints.
Delimitation – For the analysis of the self-leadership and job satisfaction constructs, it was decided to use the context of the telework regime. Data collection was carried out with federal public servants of the PGFN participating in the management plan. Applicability – Encourage the training and use of self-leadership strategies to generate greater job satisfaction for federal public servants. Servers will have a positive impact on mental health
and quality of life. Organizations with improved performance reduced leave and reduced turnover. In addition, society gets improvements in the quality of service received and in economic conditions.
Originality – The Brazilian literature on self-leadership is still incipient and there are no studies relating self-leadership and job satisfaction in public servants.
