A influência das características do campo organizacional na adoção de práticas de ESGuma análise do setor elétrico brasileiro

Resumo

Purpose – The aim of this research is identify the impacts of the characteristics of the organizational field configured by the electricity sector on the adoption of ESG practices by companies operating in this sector. The theoretical contribution of the work is composed by elements of institutional theory, organizational field and ESG or sustainability.
 Design/Methodology - The research is classified as qualitative, exploratory, descriptive and multiple case study. The data are primary and secondary, whose sources are the Sustainability Reports and Social Balance Sheets of the companies and content collected through semi-structured interviews.
 Findings – Among the results, it was observed that the organizational field in Brazil for ESG practices is still fragmented and with a low level of isomorphism. The results are based on a sample of companies in the "Electric Energy" segment operating in the Brazilian market in energy generation, distribution and transmission.
 Practical implications - The work also demonstrates that the pillars of institutional theory and the pressure mechanisms exerted on them shape the organizational field leading to a specific level of isomorphism.
