Uma análise crítica da gestão ambiental na indústria química do Estado do Rio de Janeiro

Resumo

This work presents the environmental characteristics of the chemical industry located in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro. First, sustainable development concepts are organized as framework that should guide the actions of the environmental managers working for that industry segment. The collected data allowed an evaluation of the core topics related to those activities, such as: the need for technical support; relevant environmental issues; implemented actions; projects and innovation; barriers for improvement; records on regular basis; externai and future actions; investments in environmental management; human workforce; market conditions; and legal aspects. Finally, the conclusion of the study is drawn from an overall analysis of the several aspects observed. The outcome is set of recommended concepts and actions that confirm, add or change the current management actions.
