Resumo

This study examines school violence and the role of the Integral Protection Network (REDE) in the municipality of Piraí, Rio de Janeiro, proposing an intervention protocol—presented in the form of a guidebook—to strengthen coordinated efforts among local stakeholders. The aim is to prevent and reduce violence in school settings through the development of collaborative practices. Adopting a qualitative approach, the research was conducted through action research, combining a literature review, document analysis, and in-depth interviews with REDE members. Findings indicate that various forms of school violence are exacerbated by institutional fragmentation, informal communication between services, and insufficient professional training, all of which undermine the effectiveness of protective actions. The study concludes that effectively addressing school violence requires moving beyond a reactive framework toward the construction of a proactive, cross-sectoral policy. The proposed guidebook emerges as a key tool for institutionalizing workflows, standardizing procedures, and strengthening interagency collaboration, offering specific protocols for different types of violence, including those driven by racism, LGBTphobia, and ableism—thus contributing to the creation of a safer and more inclusive school environment.
