Inventário analítico e registro de autoridade do fundo Colégio Pedro II

Resumo

The work is composed by the analytical inventory of the Colégio Pedro II (Pedro II School) archives group, and also by the authority record of this archives group’s creator, and a survey of the laws about education and this school from 1838 to 2009. The Pedro II School archives group, located at the NUDOM – Records and Memory Nucleus of the Pedro II School – is formed by an administrative records group in which are registered the acts practiced by the institution from its foundation in 1837 up to the 1990’s decade. This archives group contains 60 folders and 600 bound books with approximately 300 pages each. In them, there are Congregation minutes, teachers’ exam entrance books, the first book of dispatches from 1838, the enrollment books, preparatory exams books, official letters sent, official letters received, dispatches from the Ministry of the Empire, disciplinary occurrences books, graduation books and honor rolls, teachers and administrative staff nominations. Besides producing the description of the archives group and the authority record register, this work describes the methodology used in the construction of the analytical inventory - based in the study of texts on archival theory and classification and use of the international standards ISAAR(CPF) and NOBRADE. The inventory is presented as a fundamental finding aid for the search, identification and access to the records, emphasizing, equally, the importance of this archives group to subsidy the understanding of high school education’s evolution in Brazil.
