Resumo

This Technical Note (TN) presents an assessment of housing inadequacies in Brazil based on geolocated surveys grouped at municipal, state, and national levels, using 2024 data from the Unified Registry for Federal Social Programs (CadÚnico), and estimates the costs required to address them. The analysis updates the data from TN 40/2023 and incorporates data disaggregation by gender and race, from an intersectional perspective. The publication reveals that, in 2024, over 16.3 million families lived in households with at least one housing inadequacy, with an estimated cost of R$ 273.6 billion to overcome them, ensuring the right to adequate housing. This effort directly impacts 8 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and positively influences 24 areas such as the economy, health, education, environment, and more.
