Gênero e sexualidade no ambiente de trabalho

Resumo

Diversity and inclusion in the labor market are core values with the potential to foster growth and development. Solid and sustainable labor markets leave no one behind and guarantee decent work for everyone, regardless of gender or sexual orientation. However, unfortunately, LGBTI+ people are often excluded from such environments. In this sense, this research has as a general objective to understand the inclusive or exclusive scenario of current work environments for LGBTI+ people. Thus, the specific objectives seek to contextualize the paradigm of sexuality today, present the Brazilian LGBTI+ legal scenario, explain the homophobia and violence suffered by LGBTI+ people, and finally, present the LGBTI+ inclusion - labor market, as well as the importance of diversity in these environments, the obstacles encountered and how they can be tackled. For this research, the literature review method was chosen. As the world becomes more welcoming and understanding of the LGBTI+ community, people expect companies to do the same. Companies that work to change to create a more acceptable and tolerant environment will earn the respect and loyalty of employees and the general public. While there is still a lot of work to do, there is a growing number of companies that understand that equality is good for business. Finally, the present work leaves the theme open, proposing that in the future a case study be carried out in order to verify the opportunities and barriers identified in the labor market for LGBTI+ people.
