Resumo

Strategic Sourcing activities are being implemented by the companies, based on the high level of transparency during projects execution and mainly based on the high potential of benefits that can be achieved through it. By doing that, companies are effectively taking advantages in being more competitive with its purchases and as consequence of that, they become more competitive into the market. Most of the companies have its own purchasing department, which is the specialized team in charge of purchasing activities and normally, it is the only department which is authorized to do negotiations and purchases on behalf of the companies, making sure that all processes, methodologies and criteria’s are being properly followed when handling and executing projects. Over the past few years, it was identified that a lot of companies have mutual dependency, or any kind of business partnerships, where basically one part can make benefits concession and the other part is supposed to do the same, this is well known as business reciprocity. Based on that, business reciprocity will be even more present into the strategic sourcing activities, the objective of this study is to have a better understanding of what are the main topics and criteria’s that should be considered when handling and executing strategic sourcing projects, making sure that all involved parties will be able to get the most attractive deal in addition to try to reduce its project lifecycle, making sure that all involved professionals are more productive and effective on projects execution. That said, this study will use qualitative methodology supported by a case study, looking to identify what are the main topics that should be considered when handling a strategic sourcing project with business reciprocity. Based on the interviews and its obtained answers and results, it was possible to have a better understanding about the main criteria’s that should be considered for this kind of projects, making sure that the upcoming strategic sourcing projects are conducted in a more collaborative way and in a shorter lifecycle.
