Resumo

Publisher Ênio Silveira is, from the historical perspective, the theme of this dissertation. With a unique trajectory among his own, incorporating business, intellectual and political thinking, making Editora Civilização Brasileira a pole where Brazilian intelligence converged for about 40 years. This work is based on the reading and interpretation of the studies presented on the editor; in addition to interviews with family members and professionals who lived with him; and an investigation of specialized literature, to compose a trajectory of the events that forged the life and history of Ênio Silveira and Editora Civilização Brasileira. The dissertation also aims to disclose to the reading public the last 14 years of his life, very little studied, in addition to other characteristics of this famous character, usually identified as a left-wing editor, but who actually had a much more multifaceted life, in the professional area, whether in his personal life.
