Resumo

This research was developed starting from the verification of the effectiveness of the use of the Information Technology - IT, in the public companies. The study intends to provide a better understanding of the causes and circumstances that favor or harm the best results of the companies with the use of IT in the execution of their missions. IT is a component relatively new in the companies and it propitiates radical transformations in its performance. This technology is developing itself very quickly and has been used in an intuitive way and based in common sense. In its beginning role it was only limited to the support to the productivity of the companies. Now raisin to represent a new strategic dimensiono This way, this present research proposes to identify the appropriate use of the IT for the public companies in strategic leveI. The practical application will be presented with facts observed in Financiadora de Estudos e Projetos - FINEP.
