Resumo

The objective of this article is exploratory and is based on understanding the perception of black professionals about the management of racial diversity in information technology organizations in Brazil. A set of 10 interviews was conducted with market professionals from 9 technology organizations belonging to different sectors. The interviews, transcripts, and annotations were submitted to content analysis and were grouped into macro-categories, categories, and subcategories that allow us to understand the implementation of the management of racial diversity in technology organizations and also to make prescriptions. At the individual level, the racial impact on the career of black IT professionals and their involvement with the management of racial diversity was analyzed, and at the organizational level, the basis for the management of racial diversity, the current characterization of this work, and the satisfaction of black professionals. This study provides a reading from the perspective of black professionals interviewed about racial diversity management programs, in addition to a set of good anti-racist practices for information technology organizations in Brazil.
