A musealização do túnel histórico como estratégia de preservação da memória institucional da Escola Naval

Resumo

This study analyzes the strategies for preserving the institutional memory of the Naval Academy, a higher education institution of the Brazilian Navy, highlighting the Musealization Project of the Historic Tunnel of the Fortress of Nossa Senhora da Conceição de Villegagnon as its main outcome. Based on studies on institutional memory, the invention of traditions, and military spirit, it investigates how the preserved architectural fragment has been reinterpreted as a place of memory. It explores the trajectory of the Naval School and Villegagnon Island, emphasizing the historical significance of the site and its symbolic evolution over the centuries, ultimately becoming a symbol of identity and belonging to the naval academy.
