Resumo
Work-Life Balance (WLB) is a concept born and raised in the Western that has been applied in research in countries in the Global South. From the basic premise that WLB is age, culture, and local sensitive I aim to argue in this theoretical research why the concept should be revised to be used in the Brazilian scenario to underpin WLB studies in the country. Among many social aspects of Brazil, I chose three to be explored: i. Poverty and social inequalities; ii. Race; and iii. Informality and precarious work. Additionally, I propose topics for each Brazilian characteristic to present a future research agenda. The intention is not to exhaust the possibilities of studies, but to use the Brazilian scenario to advance the study in WLB in the country, thus creating a specific research agenda where it would be possible to better understand how the balance between personal and professional lives happens in Brazil.
