Resumo
The present research investigates the existence of salary differences between foreigners and natives in the Brazilian labor market. For the conditional average, it is highlighted that foreigners constitute a positively selected group, that is, they tend to receive higher salaries than natives, but this difference has decreased over the decades. Considering the results the conditional distribution for 1991 and 2000, we have found that the salary gap exhibits an inverted-U shape, with the greatest salary difference being observed in intermediate occupations. For 2010, the inverted-U shape is disfigured. Additionally, there was a significant reduction in salary differences between individuals in low-skilled.
