Resumo
The author presents a study on the evolution of the working classes movements, starting from the military coup of 1964, at the same time drawing a social, political and economic profile of the situation then prevailing. He comes to the New Republic, when the prospects of change emerge with unparalleled acceleration, primarily as concerns the people's organizative capacity, exhibiting a clear cut push towards democracy and a definite rupture from the totalitarian model of State organization.
