Uma comparação entre os estilos de liderança de bancos e fintechs

Resumo

Contrary to common sense, which is demonstrated in the empirical research carried out on Linkedin, where 88% of the respondents said that they believe that there is a difference between the leadership profile of a Fintech when compared to the Bank. In order to elucidate this hypothesis, a research was carried out that presents a comparison between the transactional, transformational, passive and authentic leadership profile of Fintechs and Banks that is supported by the theory of leadership. The specific objectives and the hypotheses were built taking into account the characteristics of each of these financial companies, whether they are Fintech or Bank. To quantify the leadership characteristic present in Fintech and Banks, test the hypotheses, the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ), questionnaire with 45 questions was used (referring to transactional, transformational and passive behaviors). The second questionnaire with 16 questions of the Authentic Leadership Questionnaire form (ALQ), about authentic leadership. The results demonstrate that there is no difference the leadership profile between Fintechs and Banks, within the scope of the financial institutions surveyed. In this study, it was realized with approximately 110 Fintechs and 121 Banks, totaling more than 231 institutions/companies. This study contributes to the reflection of the leadership of Fintechs and Banks, leaving the empirical discussion for the scientifically validated result. The result opens up a frontier of opportunities and an understanding of the pillars that make millennials pursue their career at a Fintech rather than a Bank.
