Resumo
The article analyzes the pact against domestic violence instituted in the Menino Chorão community, located in the city of Campinas, State of São Paulo. This pact, which was in force between 2012 and 2016, tensioned the social relations of power through the confrontation of domestic violence, one of the pillars of the social construction of gender. To analyze it, we start from the process of corporate and intersectionalized urbanization that reproduces the structural inequalities of gender-race-class. The pact is considered a victory, albeit ephemeral and incomplete, of urban periphery, as it points to a possible overcoming of the capitalist-racist-patriarchal system through the social struggle organized by women, capable of combating this type of violence intensely rooted in Brazilian society. Thus, the article indicates the potential of a rationality and a modernity that represent an alternative to capitalism.
