Resumo

This article examines the spread of logistical condominiums on the peripheries of three Brazilian metropolises and their relationship with new patterns of urbanization. Drawing on the concept of extensive urbanization, it is argued that these ventures reflect the dissemination of the general conditions of production within a context of transformations in the spatial and financial dynamics of capitalist accumulation. Concurrently, based on the concept of new dependent urbanization, it demonstrates how the logic of rentier and logistical capital shapes these spaces, expressing a dynamic of subordinated development. The theoretical-empirical analysis combines cartographic surveys, empirical data collection, and bibliographic review, articulating spatial, economic, and social dimensions. Finally, the synthetic category of dependent and extensive urbanization is proposed as an explanatory tool for the phenomenon, highlighting how the logistical-financial rationality reorganizes and expands peripheral territories, reproducing mechanisms of urban dispossession and environmental degradation—historical structures of dependency now expressed in new forms.
