The discourse of diversity in the corporate domainbusiness foundations and institutes in the field of culture and the conversion of economic capital into political power

Resumo

The paper analyzes the multiple ways in which the discourse of diversity has been enunciated in the corporate realm. Such discourse is currently stated as human capital or human resource, it appears as a symbolic asset in the sphere of global trade and it is also operated as a kind of ballast that legitimizes the conversion of economic capital into political capital or political power. Although it is not the only way, the discourse of diversity is one of the means by which the exercising of public power by private agents, which capital is initially economic, has been legitimized, as in the case of nonprofit corporate institutes in the field of culture.
