Similaridades entre a psicoterapia centrada no cliente e o pensamento existencial de Soren Kierkegaard

Resumo

So as to detect similarities between Carl Rogers therapy and Sören Kierkegaard's existential thought, we have proceeded to a sheer inspection of the Danish philosopher's literary work, his concern with the concrete, the unique, the man as subjettivify, and the stages -esthetical, ethical and religious -the means by which his existence processes. After studying the development of Rogers' psychotherapic theory, including the three phases as a following step we have pointed to the convergencies of intuitions and convictions reflecting common perspectives to both thinkers. In an article published in 19S5. Rogers himself expresses his thankfulness to Kierkegaard who, through his position, led him to trust and express his experiencing. The analysis of the existential aspect of rogerian therapy showed that, although Carl Rogers was born a century after Kierkegaaid, there are plenty of convergent points of view between the two authors.
