Projeto de criação do curso de bacharelado em Turismo da Universidade Federal do Triângulo Mineiro

Resumo

This technical report elaborated a possible Pedagogical Project for the Tourism Course at the Federal University of Triângulo Mineiro (UFTM), carrying out an analysis of Tourism courses created in Minas Gerais state territory more than five years ago, as well as the verification of teaching and university extension projects aimed at the preservation of historical and cultural heritage carried out at other universities, such as the Federal University of Ouro Preto (UFOP), in addition to teaching and extension projects carried out by the Federal University of Triângulo Mineiro (UFTM) itself. Currently, UFTM has 28 undergraduate and teaching licentiate courses in various areas, however, with the theme that highlights the preservation of historical and cultural heritage, it only has courses in History and Geography, and the intention of opening a bachelor's degree course in Tourism at the Araxá-MG campus, according to its Institutional Guidelines Plan (PDI), is still in the structuring process. This technical report elaborates the curricular structure corresponding and pertinent to aspects of a Tourism course specifically aimed at the Triângulo Mineiro region, based on the analysis of course projects related to discussions on the preservation of the national historical-cultural heritage and respective educational potential, aligning UFTM with the possibility of inserting a common core curriculum that covers disciplines from other already established courses, which can be adapted to the proposed Tourism course curriculum. As a research methodology, the foundation used was the theoretical and practical bases of actions organized and already consolidated in other universities in the creation of bachelor's degree courses in Tourism, focused on Heritage Education as one of the preponderant points, seeking to structure relevant actions and measuring parameters of the actions carried out in other universities, consistent, however, with the needs identified locally. From this perspective, the chosen research methodology included a database of federal universities that demonstrated the details of the pedagogical projects of Tourism courses, corresponding curricular matrices and university teaching and extension projects identified with the theme of Heritage Education, noting the number of student participants, the used methodology, the scope in the academic sphere, the relative scope of the participation of local communities, as well as the evaluation obtained from such projects by the corresponding university pro-rectories. In addition, there was a review of articles that described the history of the creation of Tourism courses in Brazil, their development as an academic branch, challenges and basic opportunities for graduates of Tourism courses in the country. The Pedagogical Project for the Tourism Course of UFTM, Araxá campus, the final product of this technical report, is based on the guidelines of the Brazilian Ministry of Education, and is organized based on the needs and characteristics of the region in which the course should be integrated, but with the perspective of analysis and instructions arising from programs and projects already carried out in other federal universities, which have organized and consolidated Pedagogical Project as effective instruments of education and appreciation of the national historical-cultural heritage.
