Resumo
We analyzed the impact of emotions on the disposition effect (DE) on a sample of 97 students. They participated in an experiment where they were exposed to visual stimuli of IAPS (International Affective Picture System) and then took part in a stock market simulation. The hypotheses tested were: negative emotional states (positive) are related to a decrease (increase) of the DE. The results do not corroborate the hypotheses established. It was found that the students in the group under positive emotional effect maintained for a longer time in their portfolios assets that have appreciated after purchase, resulting in a lower DE.
