Resumo
This article examines the changes in the composition of agricultural production of Parana Slate in the period 1975-85, and its principal causes, specially the effects of the policies of Rural Credit, and Minimum Price Guaranties, as well as returns per hectare and the behavior of prices of the product. The basic conclusion with regards to these changes is that the artificial advantages created by institutional policies, specially rural credit, for soya-bean and wheat destroyed the comparative advantages of many products in the agricultural sector of Parana State. From the beginning of the decade of the nineteen eighties when these artificial advantages were significantly reduced, there appeared a grcaten diversity and an increase in the physical production of the agricultural sector of the State.
