Resumo

The present study discusses indicators of sustainable development in coastal municipalities in the northern and northeastern regions of Brazil, specifically in the states of Amapá, Ceará, Maranhão, Pará, Piauí, and Rio Grande do Norte. The analysis considered municipal indicators that contribute to achieving the targets of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, in educational, health, and income generation areas. In the specific cases of SDGs 1 and 3, the data collected were extracted from the INCT-Odisseia platform. Through multidimensional Cluster Analysis, efforts were made to identify characteristics related to the municipalities and their respective development indicators analyzed. Five clusters of interest were identified and subsequently described according to their characteristics and dimensions, highlighting the potentials and municipal needs in the studied themes. The information gathered in the research can inform municipal actors and managers about the priority needs for public policies in the municipalities under study, both at the local level and in the collective observation of coastal municipalities, concerning the achievement of the analyzed SDGs.
