Management by the end of the 20th century

Resumo

This article examines a few elements instrumental to the enormous "technological leap" that managers in general and particularly Latin American management must make. To that effect, there are several stages of analysis. Firstly, the new necessities of managerial skills and the traditional style of management largely prevailing in Latin America, and with few possibilities of giving answer to the questions being formulated. Secondly, the author explores the new "technological frontier" in management at world level. Lastly, there is a final discussion on management in Latin America. In all cases, due to the broadness of the topics, the author makes clear that it is not his intention to deplete the subjects, but rather to lead interested parties to the envisaging of new outlooks, as well as to stimulate an open and creative debate.
