Resumo

The text addresses a range of issues related to the Amazon, highlighting challenges and proposals for sustainable development in the region. Several articles discuss topics such as regional governance, transportation infrastructure, water management, hydroelectric energy, and the geostrategic relevance of the Amazon for the interests of the United States and China. There is a proposal for the institutional redesign of the OTCA to promote research, innovation, and mission-oriented financing for regional economic development, with an emphasis on exploring the biodiversity potential. Additionally, the edition pays tribute to the Amazonian poet Thiago de Mello, whose reflections on the forest continue to resonate in discussions about the region.
