Internacionalização do ensino superior e o impacto do intercâmbio na graduaçãoum estudo de caso da FGV EBAPE

Resumo

Internationalization in higher education in the Brazilian context is not a uniquely defined concept and can be measured through different paths and methods. In this study, we aspired to evaluate higher education in the Brazilian context based on the analysis of the possible effects of participating in an international exchange program on the personal and professional lives of undergraduate students. With this aim, a survey was carried out among FGV EBAPE students and alumni to collect more clear and precise data and information on the topic. In search of a broad panorama, the opinions of both students who participated in an international exchange program and those who did not were assessed to estimate whether there are considerable differences between the two groups. Based on the results, we hope to provide an improved assessment of how, and if, the experience of academic mobility abroad can, in fact, influence the lives of undergraduate students in a significant way to the point of finding relevant differences between the two determined groups. Using the results of this research, a Policy Brief was prepared as the final product of the course which can be used by HEIs that are interested in the topic to assist in more appropriately evaluating how, and whether, they invest time and resources in developing strategies to encourage international exchange within their programs.
