Estudo da estrutura e funcionamento da educação especial nos sistemas estaduais de educação do Brasil

Resumo

This issue is a study about exceptional children assistance in tne Brazilian Educational System within the State Departments of Education and Culture. We, expect to give a contribution to the Special Educational field, which is based on philosophical principles, today universal, that every one has equal rights for Education. In the Brazilian Educational System we verify that the accomplishment of this right is not within the exceptional students reach, yet. The present Special Education service's structure functioning in the country, among other factors, still does not favor the universalization of the assistance. In study beggins with a, retrospective view of what is being done in Brazil to systematize the exceptional’s education. It was sought to characterize the clientele and the adequate educational assistance strategies. Aiming to analyze the present situation of the Special Education organization in the country's Department of Education, taking into account the exceptional students characteristics and needs, it was asked for the States and Territories informations about the structure and functioning of the Departments responsible for Special Education. The data interpretation, in accordance , with what is recommended technically, administratively and philosophicaly, leads to some concIusions, which are included in , this work.
