Resumo
This article analyzes the configuration of the Brazilian electric sector in the scope of hydropower, resulting from the sectoral reforms of the 1990s and 2000s. The analysis reveals that the reforms allowed the electric sector to become a space of diversification for domestic and foreign capital companies, with the end of the state electricity monopoly. The incorporation of new sectoral agents confers transformations within the scope of sectorial planning as well as reveals the link of this sector with the international insertion of the country, related to the export of commodities and financeirization, which is verified from the analysis of the chain of the hydropower companies. Moreover, the analysis reveals new relations between the state and private capital, different from those espoused by the neoliberals of the 1990s, but far from what was in force in the developmental period.
