Emergência climática e transição energéticareflexões sobre o lugar do Brasil na reordenação produtiva global

Resumo

The climate issue will continue to be a key issue on the national and multilateral agendas of all countries on the planet – from those at the forefront of economic and production, such as the G20 countries, to those with less prominence, such as Tuvalu, a small archipelago in the Pacific Ocean that is already feeling the negative impacts of climate change and could disappear due to the consequences of global warming. The responses that each nation will give to the environmental problem must consider its particularities. Without clarity about the actual roles that each one plays in the emission of greenhouse gases, and the measures that they can adopt to be part of the solution to the problem, there is a risk of a new subordination of developing countries within a remodeled international division of labor, under the command of developed countries. Worse still: without the effects of climate mitigation occurring in a satisfactory manner. This essay presents the data and problematizes the theme of global warming, the energy transition and the opportunities and pitfalls associated with the productive transformations required by the new environmental, political and economic context.
