De forasteiro a unanimidadea interventoria de Juracy Magalhães na Bahia (1931-1934)

Resumo

This dissertation focuses on the politics of the state of Bahia, in the first half of the 1930‘s. Focusing the analysis on the figure of Juracy Magalhaes, who occupied the ―interventoria‖ of the state of Bahia in August 1931 to October 1934, when he was elected, indirectly, to the position of state governor. The objective of this study is to identify which strategies Juracy Magalhães allowed in a short space of time, "the lieutenant from Ceará" to take political control of Bahia. In other words, to understand how the military from Ceará, considered an "outsider" in Bahia, becomes one of the most important political leaders of the state. Finally, we will study the period from 1931 to 1934, which corresponds to the years when Juracy Magalhães built his way of action in Bahian politics.
