Resumo

Analysis of financial impacts related to global economy began in the 90’s. Most of the works developed assess the impacts of macronomic variables. The objective of this investigation is to analyze the impact of Covid-19 on the Brazilian industrial sectors of Agriculture, Commerce and Services between 2012 and 2021 using the financial statement of companies traded in the Brazilian stock exchange B3.In this analysis were utilized the Least Square Methods with ROA (Return on Assets) as the dependent variable and capital structure, operational margin, fixed assets, operational & financial leverage as well as a Dummy variable for COVID and GDP as a macroeconomical independent variable. The model has 7644 observations of each variable. This paper will take an operational/financial perspective. Finally, they were auxiliary tests were used: Hausman test in order to validate the Fixed Effect model or Random Effect model, Augmented Dickey-Fuller (ADF) test to verify that the series are stationary, the Breusch-Pagan test to detect heteroscedasticity and the test of Engle and Granger to indicate whether the series are cointegrated. The results indicated that the Food and Beverage sectors; manufactures; Fabrics, Clothing and Footwear and Utilities were, respectively, the most positively impacted by the pandemic from Covid-19, while the Agriculture sectors; Commerce, Hotels and Restaurants; Construction; Services and Transport were negatively impacted.
