Resumo

Government concessions have proven to be an effective strategy for developing infrastructure projects and providing quality public services to the population. This article analyzes the case of the onerous concession of the Anhembi complex, located in São Paulo, Brazil. By exploring the characteristics of this concession, the research examines the impacts of this partnership between the public and private sectors on public policies, the regional economy and the events sector, making it clear that it is essential that concessions are carefully planned, regulated and monitored to ensure the fulfillment of public objectives and the appropriate balance between the interests involved.
