Avanços, limites e desafios das políticas do MEC para a educação superior na década de 1990ensino de graduação

Resumo

The following text aims to outline the evolution of undergraduate education in Brazil, during the decade of 1990, with emphasis on the federal policies for this area. Therefore, the text presents: (i) synthesis of government diagnosis and the resulting actions; (ii) main actions and programs implemented during the decade; (iii) dimensions of this area in the four levels of administration (federal, state, municipal and private); and (iv) analysis of the expenditures of the Ministry of Education (MEC) with federal higher education institutions (IFES). As conclusion, it was identified improvements and difficulties to the implementation of the government policies and programs, as well some of the challenges of the higher education in Brazil on the current decade.
