Avaliação do impacto da especialização em saúde pública da ENSP/FIOCRUZ na inserção de sanitaristas para atuação no SUSuma proposta metodológica

Resumo

Purpose – The objective of the research is the development of a methodology that assesses the impact of the specialization course in Public Health, offered by the National School of Public Health, to the entry of public health professionals to perform in the Brazilian Public National Health System. Design/Methodology – An impact assessment methodology was developed with the presentation of two structured questionnaires (Appendixes A and B). It´s also suggested a descriptive analysis and a statistical analysis of the sample. Finally, it is proposed to compare the respondents who end the course and those who did not finish it to obtain the impact of the course in the entry of public health professional to acting in the Public National Health System. Findings – There are no results to be presented due to the non-application of the methodology. Limitations – The main limitation was the non-application of the methodology developed by this research. This occurred because of the difficulties faced to accessing the data of specialization course in Public Health of students who would be object of the survey. Practical implications– The proposed methodology may be implemented in the future both by ENSP and other institutions interested in obtaining such data, as for instance, other institutions that have a public health course in their grid. Social implications – If implemented, the developed methodology has the potential of to assist in the manager´s decisions, resulting in improvements to the course and of contributing to the diffusion of the impact assessment concept in the educational area. Originality – It is not common to find impact assessment work in education, especially when it comes to lato sensu courses. In this way, research generates a methodological proposal that, if applied, has innovative potential regarding the evaluation of the Specialization course in Public Health of the National School of Public Health.
