Resumo
The study is the final report of a research, about informal activities of the autonomous workers in Recife, accomplished by IPEA and the Foundation Joaquim Nabuco of Pernambuco, and it is based on a research methodology developed by the authors in the last years. The focus on the autonomous workers and their insertion in the Recife system of employment indicated some concerning significant aspects to the organization of these workers, to the competition terms, to the alliances and, finally, to a factors set that, in last analysis, stipulates and establishes the permanence of this activity in that specific environment.
