Acumulação de competência tecnológicas e performance operacional em operadoras de telefonia celular

Resumo

This report presents a comparative case study between two cellular telecommunications carriers. In this case study the accumulation of technological competencies are analysed and their implications for operational performance is explored. So, an analytical structure, specific for cellular telecommunications carriers, is developed from a similar one proposed by Figueiredo (2000a) to be applied to steel industry. The developed structure is applied to the firms under study and the technological competencies accumulation leveI achieved during the period of research is determined for each. Beside the accumulation leveI of these competencies, the rate of the evolution of the accumulation process is calculated along the period of analysis. Related to the accumulation of technological competencies analysis are also developed an operational performance a time frame study concerning to the cellular network of the firms of interest. This analysis is supported by the operational performance measurements for cellular networks like those. Confronting those two set of datum the relevance of accumulation of the technological competencies to the network operational performance is evaluated for the studied firms.
