Uma contribuição ao processo de análise estratégica da concorrênciaestudo comparativo entre bancos comerciais privados

Resumo

From among environmental variables which enterprises face, competition has been one of the most studied in the last few years. Besides, it generated theoretical development as a result of much research, insights and analyses in the fields of administration, economics, computer sciences and others which resulted in the so-called competitive strategy and the strategic business administration. Based on literatures which visualize business world and with specific interest in banking organizations, research was carried out to find out how private commercial banks face such competition. Therefore, a comparative and exploratory study was made five banks which were classified by the criterion of banking rank, according to the official criterion used by the Central Bank of Brazil, related specifically to the following items: 1) Criteria to the identification of competition; 2) Strategic analyses questions; and 3) Ways of monitoring competition (competitive Intelligence system). In addition to the research, an organization of the theoretical body of the topics mentioned above. was set up providing, therefore, for a description of the state of. the art.
